Summit 2023
The first event is the 2023 Crossroads' Summit, which is an exciting gathering of nonprofit workers and professionals dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth, and families in low-income communities throughout the state. Summit is designed to provide attendees with the latest knowledge, strategies, and resources for providing wrap-around services to help families thrive and end the cycle of poverty. This year's Summit will be held at the historic Oklahoma City Farmer's Market in downtown Oklahoma City on July 31, 2023. Participants will have the opportunity to hear a keynote speech, panel discussions, workshops, and networking events. Topics covered at Summit will include: Innovative approaches to providing wrap-around services for low-income families. Strategies for addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality. Best practices in early childhood development and education Mental health and trauma-informed care for children and families Effective community engagement and collaboration In addition to the formal sessions, the Summit will feature exhibits offering resources and tools to support staff and volunteers. There will also be plenty of opportunities for networking and building connections with colleagues and peers.
The second event will be held for the public in the fall to connect families with community resources and provide information and resources on healthy childhood development, mental wellness and activities to provide the best home life for adequate growth and development. This event will be called the First Five 5k and Family Fun Run. We will have an interactive component that helps them prepare for the event with training and mental health tips resources. This event also highlights the importance of the first five years for child development.
